James J. Towey has broad experience in small business and individual tax services, financial consulting, business planning, evaluation and management services. Over the last 20 years he has worked with management in oil & gas, manufacturing, insurance, software development and independent sales business’, providing them with financial and tax guidance. Mr. Towey has provided much of his expertise to individual taxation and income tax resolution with federal, state and local authorities. He has also non-profit experience, advising and providing the financials for two local homeowners associations in the Houston area.
James J. Towey was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and graduated in 1976 from the University of Notre Dame with a bachelor of business administration degree in marketing. During that time, he changed his career outlook, became a CPA, and started working with individuals and small businesses; on the side. After a brief stay with an insurance company in 1997, he became an independent consultant with a local tax preparation firm, forming his own corporation, James J. Towey, P.C., and using interpersonal skills to build his current business.
James J. Towey is a Certified Public Accountant, a member of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, a Board Director of The Clear Creek Education Foundation and parishioner of St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church. He has lived in the southeast side of Houston since 1988 with his wife of twenty-four years and two college-aged children (Jennifer at Notre Dame & Daniel at Texas A&M).
Mr. Towey is continually seeking to broaden his financial education through his goals of re-establishing his insurance and securities license this year. His focus as always is to maintain good personal contact with all clients’ in order to serve their financial needs in the most efficient way possible.
